Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced five new electric SUV cars XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09 based on its new Indian Global (INGLO) platform. The company has now entered the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) market. The first of these five electric SUVs will hit the road in 2024, followed by three more models by 2026.

Initially, the models will be launched under two series, of which the XUV brand will bring in models with futuristic design, performance and dynamic innovation, while under the BE brand the models with bold and strong design style will be introduced.

The first SUV to be launched will be the Mahindra XUV.e8, which will be launched in December 2024. Its design will be inspired by the XUV700 flagship SUV and will come with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The length of this SUV will be 4740 mm, width is 1900 mm, height is 1760 mm and wheelbase will be 2762 mm.

The Mahindra XUV.e9 will go on sale in 2025 with a coupe-style design. It will have a length of 4790 mm, a width of 1905 mm, a height of 1690 mm and a wheelbase of 2775 mm.

Mahindra says that the BE05 will be a sports electric vehicle (SEV) and will sport a bold design inspired by racing. The BE05 will measure 4370 meters in length, 1900 meters in width and 1635 meters in height and have a wheelbase of 2775 metres.

The BE.07 will be launched in 2026 and will be a three-row family SUV designed for long-distance travel. It will have a length of 4565 metres, a width of 1900 meters and a height of 1660 meters and a wheelbase of 2775 metres. No information has been provided about BE.09 at the event.

The INGLO platform will provide a futuristic, augmented reality-enabled heads-up display, 5G network capability, edge-to-edge screen and multi-sensor driving experience. Mahindra has claimed that the new INGLO platform will be one of the lightest skateboard platforms, powered by a high power density battery. The INGLO platform will use Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix Battery (MEB) platform component.
