Apple may launch its own “Search Engine” at WWDC 2022

Apple may launch its own “Search Engine” at WWDC 2022

Tech giant Apple is working on its own search engine to compete with its biggest competitor, Google, a report said.

According to a report quoting a tech blogger named Robert Scoble, Apple may announce the new search engine during the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC 2023) next year.

The report also suggests that Apple’s search engine will start functioning by January 2023, which is likely to compete with Google in this area. However, the same report was covered a few days back by Techradar and Mashable.

Let us tell you that with over 70% search market share, Google is undoubtedly the most popular search engine. Bing, Yahoo, Baidu and Yandex are the most popular search engines after Google. Most of Alphabet’s profit comes from advertising revenue, of which search engines play a large role. Alphabet’s profit in the year 2021 was about $210 billion.

However, it also cannot be denied as Apple products are the most popular in the world, the company can easily get millions of users by making its new search engine the default on all products like iPhones and MacBooks. The search engine can also be installed on older iPhones by sending an update.

According to a theory, Apple believes the iOS & Safari install bases have reached masses, making it a credible challenger to Google’s dominance. Now how much truth is there in this matter will have to wait for the convention of WWDC 2023.
